What does the role involve?

This brand-new facility and brand-new position, based in Kemps Creek NSW, presents the opportunity to move into a role where you can help build out the facility and role from the ground up.  Reporting to the Head of Processing, you will be responsible for leading and integrating the entire Delivery operation within the facility, focusing on safety, service, cost and performance.  The Facility Manager ensures compliance standards are achieved, whilst actively driving change to manage costs and network/operational innovation and improvement.  The immediate priority of the role will be to drive efficiency programs to achieve the optimal use of Delivery assets and resources.


What are the key responsibilities?

  • Manage the facility operational activities that support the achievement of the COO objectives, with a particular focus on safety, customer, service delivery standards, cost activities and legal and legislative compliance.
  • Lead the execution of operational strategies to realise integration benefits while reducing risks.
  • Identify work synergies and realise specific cost savings and process improvements / benefits in line with Corporate plans (within specific timeframes)
  • Deliver value from an asset base and operating budget
  • Execute productivity initiatives which will optimise the operations
  • Manage allocation of resources through effective labour planning and allocation of equipment to meet Delivery obligations, schedules and service performance standards.
  • Develop and execute the depot communication strategy that drives improved engagement, service, safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor Depot NPS results and identify activities and opportunities to gain higher results from customer feedback
  • Generate a culture of customer centricity through the leadership and embedding of the Delight customer mindset program.
  • Build and Lead a culture within the function that fosters the One Australia Post approach, focuses on safety & wellbeing and puts the customer at the forefront of all activities and decisions
  • Manage all safety initiatives and the compliance to OH&S policy and plans such as OH&S Plan, Floor Traffic Management Plan, manual handling activities etc

In addition to this, you will ideally have

  • Demonstrated experience working within a large Operational environment
  • Experience or exposure working with a Unionised workforce
  • Excellence in people management with a driven, resilient and optimistic mindset
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Safety Leadership and complying with WHS management systems
  • A keen desire to develop and coach your team to successful progression opportunities across the broader business
