What does the role involve?

The SEO Manager is accountable for the traffic (30M visits), revenue ($60m) and online self-service usage (130m) volumes in the Australia Post digital channel which are achieved via online search engines through Search Engine Optimisation.

This role will draw on deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of SEO to ensure Australia Post is well positioned in all categories of branded and non-branded keyword search terms on search engines.

The SEO function is also supported by an SEO Analyst within the team to deliver best SEO practices & outcomes.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Develop SEO strategies for key product categories
  • Drive traffic to Australia Post digital channels through search engines
  • Drive content and technical programs to achieve key product category ranking positions
  • Manage on-page optimisations (metadata, keyword usage, internal linking, etc.)
  • Manage offsite initiatives (link building, content marketing & promotion, social media projects, etc.)
  • Audit websites and provide technical recommendations for improving SEO visibility and performance
  • Identify new opportunities and recommendations for improving organic search rankings, traffic growth and conversion rates
  • Oversee SEO reporting (keyword rankings, SEO traffic, revenue and conversion data)

What are we looking for?

  • At least 5 years of SEO specific work experience, preferably in a client-side environment
  • Experience managing technical optimisations (crawling and indexation, website architecture, url & site migrations, page speed etc.)
  • Experience managing on-page optimisations (metadata, keyword usage, internal linking, etc.)
  • Experience with link building and content creation for the purpose of improving SEO performance
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Highly developed communications skills both written and oral as well as, highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
  • Experience in Web Analytics: Omniture, Google Analytics, Web Trends, etc.
  • Experience in SEO: Google Webmaster Tools, BrightEdge, Botify, Majestic, Advanced Web Rankings etc.
