Reporting to the State Linehaul Manager, the Operations Data Coordinator enables the VIC/TAS Operations to drive better and more sophisticated outcomes through the insight, automation and deeper detail it will provide.

This role will be responsible for delivering insight, support and solutions to the VIC/TAS Operations using their skillset in analysis and tools available. They will improve our processes by way of understanding the requirements with operational engagement and tailoring solutions that are underpinned by an automation principle. In addition, the role will be required to construct their own data sets centric to the operations. We will rely on you to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover opportunities that lie hidden within—all with the ultimate goal of realising the data’s full potential.

What will you be doing?

  • Upkeep of in-production reports, working datasets, schedules and workflows
  • Automating data pipelines & ingestion by way of scripts and other available tools
  • Assisting Linehaul manager in operational matters
  • Effectively present information using data visualisation programs and techniques
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes (internal & external)
  • Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns (or validate callouts)
  • Build reports for internal customers such as operation managers and supervisors
  • Identify and deliver Continuous Improvements in information and analytical standards, processes, toolsets and outcomes
  • Participation in company UAT Programs
  • Supervision of staff (as required in broader team coverage)
  • Analyse and model multiple data sets and processes to identify insights (issues/opportunities) that will impact business outcomes in the short, medium or long term
  • Recommend business solutions (process improvement) to deliver program/project(s) and business strategies
  • Proactively identifies and resolve, gaps and conflicts with possible solutions or business requirements
  • Defines and manages metrics down to detailed business rules to ensure the right information is provided to support business decisions
  • Document & define created workflow’s, formation and schedules of datasets for traceability

 

 

A little about you:

  • Using data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau) to provide succinct analysis which can be self-served by operational relationships
  • Construction of system scripts to automate and organise email/excel based data traffic (use of cloud scripts preferred ie. PowerAutomate)
  • Use of data processing tools such as Altyrex to collect, create, transform and clean data
  • Ingesting data into GCP (various methods)
  • Creating custom datasets from existing enterprise datasets in GCP
  • Experience in maintaining and tracking (via tools) data workflows, timelines and schedules
  • LEAN & Six-Sigma
  • Producing analysis and reports that assist in Sustaining (5S) improvements in the business
