What it’s like to work here?
For you, it means you'll do great work, learn from the best and develop a career within a robust and well-invested but empowering and creative environment.  We all work hard – we're working on major challenges, after all – but we also recognise that you have a life outside of the office, so we provide flexible conditions that enable you to grow whilst enjoying a genuine work-life balance.

What does the role involve?

Reporting to the Senior Audit Manager - WHSW, you are responsible for the execution and delivery of WHSW Audit engagements that provide assurance to management on the effectiveness of the WHSW frameworks, programs, and internal control environment within Australia Post and its subsidiaries.

You will work closely with the Group Safety and first-line management teams to assess WHSW key risks and provide assurance that existing processes and controls, newly designed processes, transformational initiatives, and key strategic programs of work effectively and efficiently mitigate significant risk and comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Through the audit process, this role will play a key role in encouraging and maturing better WHSW outcomes across the business and building strong collaborative relationships in the spirit of continuous improvement.

  • Lead WHSW audits to draw fact-based conclusions that ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and enable positive change and create commercial value.
  • Independently assess the effectiveness of governance processes and project methodology within key strategic enterprise programs and provide advice to assist the achievement of program/project objectives.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and improvement ideas to various management forums
  • Proactively follow up action items to ensure recommended remediation plans have been carried out and risks have been appropriately mitigated
  • Actively participate and work collaboratively as a member of the Chief Risk Office to achieve the Enterprise’s strategic objectives, including with Group Risk and Group Compliance, as well as the Internal Audit function.
  • Ensure all work is performed and documented in the spirit of established Audit Methodology, IIA standards and codes, and requirements of relevant Regulators.

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant Tertiary or post-graduate qualification, or other relevant disciplines
  • High level communications skills to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Exposure in a corporate setting with a high level of political sensitivity and complex Safety and Wellbeing environment
  • WHSW background with audit experience is preferred
