Pushbike Postal Delivery Officer

Apply now Job no: 53836511
Brand: Australia Post
Categories: Delivery
Work type: Fixed Term Full Time, Permanent Full Time
State: NSW
Location: Kingsgrove

Our Posties have always been an essential part of Australia Post’s mail business – after all, they’re often the face of our business for most Australians. And as more of our customers embrace online and digital communications, it’s a role that’s only grown more significant.

This is your chance to hop on a Postie pushbike and head out to deliver mail to customers.

About the role

As one of our PDOs (Postal Delivery Officers) you’ll start your days sorting mail – before either hopping on a pushbike provided by Australia Post or walking to deliver that mail to customers. The bikes have an electrically charged throttle so when needed you are able to use this to support your pedal power out on the delivery route.

  • This role is based out of Kingsgrove Delivery Facility in South West Sydney
  • Monday - Friday 6.15am to 2.06pm (may vary slightly according to business requirements)
  • Upon completion of 3 months employment, the salary for this role is $50,697pa + 15% shift loading + 12% superannuation

To do that, you’ll need:

  • To enjoy being outdoors and riding a push-bike for up to 5 hours a day
  • To successfully pass our practical riding skills assessment (on employment)
  • To be fit enough to lift up to 16kg of mail
  • Meet our pushbikes safe working load limit (so you’ll need to weigh 115kg or less when fully clothed)

What are we looking for?

  • A friendly, reliable and considerate personality – with a real knack for communicating and interacting with others
  • Someone who enjoys early morning starts, and can be counted on to deliver mail to where it needs to go
  • A commitment to Australia Post’s Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • The flexibility to stay until the job’s done if need be – and a real desire to help the team.
