The Business, Government & International team manages Australia Post’s most important corporate, government and business customers, and consists of a diverse team of sales managers, account managers, solution architects, product specialists and other specialist sales support functions who collectively manage existing customer relationships and drive significant revenue growth

 

What does the role involve?

While the Sales Manager does not hold any customer accounts of its own, it is responsible for directing, coaching and driving team members (that undertake telephone-based sales activity) for high performance – to achieve agreed revenue, orders and sales targets through the effective management of team resources, performance and workload. This role require you  to:

  • Coach a team of Account Managers to effectively build relationships with customers in a fast-paced environment, retain existing revenue (e.g. closing contract renewals) and drive sustainable growth within their portfolios (e.g. extending revenue on current services and identifying opportunities for cross-sell into multi-product client solutions).
  • Guide team members’ development and implementation of customer-centric portfolio plans to ensure sales effort is effectively prioritised, existing revenue is protected, and that a deliberate approach is being undertaken to maximise revenue growth of AP’s small business accounts.
  • Drive the team to identify and qualify opportunities within customer accounts to cross sell into multi-product solutions, and ensure they are drawing on Sales and Solutions Specialists as required to build, propose and close more complex new business contracts.
  • Support team members to deliver a seamless customer experience by removing barriers or challenges relating to cross-function collaboration between AP’s specialists across all activities, including service, sales, solution design and implementation.

 

What experience will you have?

  • Considerable experience selling standardised B2B solutions to small business customers in a contact centre environment, including identifying, qualifying, proposing and closing sales opportunities.
  • Experience applying portfolio management strategies for an allocation of small business customers (ranging from $10k to $100k revenue), with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sales discipline knowledge including sales techniques, account planning, opportunity planning and reporting.
  • Knowledge of solutions, products, services, new and possible technology offerings, industry players and latest developments in digital eCommerce.
