The purpose of Customer Experience and Digital is to create products that people love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post. The business unit is responsible for managing and transforming our enterprise products, innovation and digital capability. The  five key areas that Customer Experience and Digital is responsible for include Customer Services, Digital and Data, Data Science, Identity Products & Services and Payments & Financial Services with Portfolio Strategy, Innovation and Engineering providing technical expertise across these portfolios. 

What does the role involve?

The Senior Security Operations Engineer contributes directly to the successful delivery of security operations and services to protect SecurePay’s customers, brand, and confidential information from internal and external threats. They will also continuously drive efficiencies and provide operational support to ensure alignment with business risks and security policy and that appropriate security controls are in place

Major Accountabilities: 

  • Bring thought leadership and innovation to our Security Operations team to ensures the highest standards of protection against external intrusion and internal attacks.
  • Within the Cyber Security Operations team manage, develop, implement, and enhance technical security controls which include the following, many of which are based on next generation security technologies:
    • Anti-Malware Protection
    • Priveleged Access Management
    • Denial of Service Protection
    • Multi Factor Authentication
    • Enterprise SIEM Management
  • Provide security metrics to measure the level of threat and maturity of security controls across SecurePay Group.
  • Work with third party vendors to deliver optimum service levels for managed security technologies and services. 

Essential Experience: 

  • An Industry recognised certification eg: CISSP, GIAC, ect is highly regarded
  • High level knowledge of Security threats, trends and technologies in the market
  • Exposure to PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, or SOC2 would be highly beneficial
  • At least 3-4 years of working experience in Cyber Security operations role
  • Exposure to cyber security technologies including SIEM, malware protection, firewall, DLP, FIM, proxy
  • Working experience of vulnerability management tools
  • Understanding of Infrastructure and Cloud components including Firewalls, Load Balancers, Networking, Operating systems
  • Coding skills in Python, Bash, or equivalent
  • Exposure to Cloud environments
  • Demonstrated skills in automation of SIEM monitoring and administration
