About the role

Are you a subject matter expert in Contractor Compliance with demonstrated experience managing and working in the Fair Work and Awards environment with exposure to logistics and contractors?

This role, based in either Melbourne or Sydney, will be responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of audits of Australia Post’s Extended Workforce (our Delivery Contractors) to ensure compliance with their legal and contractual obligations. Working as a team, you will perform audits of Australia Post’s Extended Workforce (our Delivery Contractors) ensuring compliance with their legal and contractual obligations. Areas of focus include assessing compliance with workplace laws and modern awards, working visa requirements and meeting commercial, safety and other contractual requirements. 

A Typical Day Would Involve

  • Keep up-to-date on changes impacting Extended Workforce legislation and relevant awards (Road Transport and Distribution Award)
  • Determine and agree with each party remediation and escalation outcomes
  • Write reports and identify additional areas for investigation
  • Inform and work with Operations, the Contracts team and Legal to develop outcomes that address or redress compliance breaches.
  • Monitor compliance dashboards and other data to assess for areas of potential non-compliance and develop and initiate action plans to assess and remediate these risks 
  • Support the maintenance and delivery of the Extended Workforce compliance framework, strategy and CMS tool as required

A bit about you

Ideally you’ll be a team player from a  compliance or legal background with auditing experience that will have encompassed:

  • Extensive knowledge of workforce laws and regulations, the Fair Work Commission and modern awards is essential
  • Previous audit or compliance experience demonstrating ability to critically analyse diverse information is essential
  • Exposure to modern award frameworks is essential
  • Exposure to logistic or companies with large extended contractor workforces
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and consulting ability to gather input from various internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of working autonomously and maintaining successful relationships within key business managers
  • Professional accreditation relevant to this area (e.g. CIA, CA/CPA, IA)
  • Experience in use of data analytics will be highly regarded

This position will have you creating specific audit plans and undertaking audits of Business Partners to confirm or identify workforce and contractual non-compliances concerning matters of pay, superannuation, sham contracting, safety and visa conditions. Audits will entail both desktop reviews and site visits as required and include assessment of financial records, internal data, contractor agreements and interviews.
