What does the role involve?

The Commercial & Performance Manager’s role is to drive commercial management principles and rhythms within the Chief Marketing Office function. The role is important in the support of prioritising initiatives and associated investments to meet marketing strategic objectives through marketing performance reporting and analysis.

It also provides commercial subject matter expertise that underpins how our marketing function operates efficiently to deliver programs and improve ROI. This will include ensuring we optimise our major agency partnerships as well as driving the marketing capability roadmap through the delivery of a marketing measurement and prioritisation framework.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Assist the Chief Marketing Office to build commercial expertise, undertake marketing performance reviews and analysis
  • Support the design and execution of a marketing governance and reporting operating rhythm, including regular agency analysis and reporting for all internal stakeholders and key external stakeholders of the chief marketing office
  • Identify efficiencies through reducing non-value adding commercial processes and activities across the function and optimise marketing processes where possible
  • Support the execution of the marketing capability roadmap through the implementation of Value driver and prioritisation framework across the CMO
  • Review marketing function performance key metrics such as vendor analysis and ROI analysis as required

What are we looking for?

  • 5-7 years of commercial marketing experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing or related discipline
  • Experience in large, complex organisations
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly in a changing environment
  • Cross-functional, complex stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and understanding in measuring and communicating marketing effectiveness and other marketing metrics such as ROI
  • Understanding of and ability to drive best practice at a strategic level
  • Strong commercial acumen with subject matter expertise and experience in vendor management would be beneficial
