Australia Post is undergoing an unprecedented period of growth requiring significant investments within the delivery network to manage growth, enhance the customer experience and improve the safety of our network for our staff. The Infrastructure and Automation team are the forefront of this network transformation through the development of new and redeveloped facilities across the country utilising advanced technology and automation solutions.

What does the role involve?

Reporting to the “General Manager, Infrastructure & Automation”, this position leads a team of highly skilled business analysts (4 direct reports) that develop the case for change using key financial, customer experience, environmental and safety data to drive decision making. The team also reviews the performance of those investments against key measurements and acts as the interface to various points within the organisation on the proper governance of those investment projects

Moreover, the role is responsible for as driving continual improvement through evaluating and reengineering processes and systems to improve the performance of our business and to ensure a competitive edge in future markets. As such, you will ensure relevant project and business teams receive expert knowledge and advice to help evaluate business requirements, assess possible solutions, and measure implementation against requirements.

Additionally, you will:

  • Establish and maintain monitoring processes to ensure visibility and progress of network projects and initiatives
  • Manage a team to interpret information from a range of sources, and modelling data and processes to identify and recommend solutions
  • Generate insights (issues/opportunities) and recommend business process improvement opportunities to deliver against project objectives
  • Articulate overarching business objectives, process, and business requirements (functional and non-functional) for projects(s) within the business unit
  • Preparing and presenting written reports (eg business requirements specifications) and business cases
  • Ensures commercial risk management is actively practised in delivery of projects
  • Responsible for the development of relevant budget and forecasts within Australia Post guidelines

Furthermore, to be successful for this role, you will bring:

  • Commercial analysis, understanding of key financial tools and management reports to measure performance and inform decision making
  • Program and project management governance, principles, frameworks and processes
  • Experience with detailed analysis framework, understanding of key operational and financial tools and management reports to measure performance and inform decision making
  • Proven management and leadership experience in a high-performance environment
  • Demonstrated business case management of projects from conception to implementation and realisation of financial objectives
  • Demonstrated skills to interpret and analyse large and complex business processes and value chains
  • In depth knowledge and experience working in a supply chain/ manufacturing environment with operational processes
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
