This role is a data enthusiasts dream! Our business generates 1 billion data points a day from scanners, sorting machines, payroll, retail POS, finance systems and vehicle GPS. We deliver to over 12 million delivery points across Australia, have a workforce of over 35,000 and run the country’s largest retail network.

We’re not here to report on the status quo. We transform the organisation by applying advanced analytical techniques to large and multi-dimensional datasets. We thrive on partnering with business stakeholders from across the enterprise to solve complex and challenging problems. Keen to dive head-first into a wealth of data and develop solutions that enhance the business? If so, this is the role for you.

What it’s like to work here
For you, it means you'll do great work, learn from the best and develop a career within a robust and well-invested but empowering and creative environment. We all work hard – we're working on major challenges, after all – but we also recognise that you have a life outside of the office, so we provide flexible conditions that enable you to grow whilst enjoying a genuine work-life balance.

All members of the Data Science team are encouraged to be creative in their problem-solving approach as there is a large appetite for trialling cutting-edge techniques and technologies to better support the business.

  • Experience with applying a range of Data Science techniques on large and multi-dimensional datasets (e.g. unsupervised and supervised learning, principal component analysis, gradient boosting, time-series modelling, neural networks, spatial modelling, monte-carlo simulation, etc.)
  • End-to-end execution of the Data Science process: understanding business requirements, data extraction and exploration, model development and evaluation, to a sustainable productionised solution
  • Experience with code and package management tools such as git, Conda or equivalent
  • Ability to translate complex technical analyses into actionable insights and recommendations
  • A team player who is motivated to contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing Data Science team
