We’re on the lookout for a Tech savvy and Security-conscious lead to inspire change across the organisation.

What does the role involve?

As a Security Engineering Lead, you will be accountable for the operational delivery and design of IT Security services, ensuring they are fit for purpose and perform to the organisation's needs. You will manage internal and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery of required products and services.

Some of your day-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading Security Engineers, ensuring they are fully aware of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by business requirements;
  • Understanding application and infrastructure build requirements and assigning suitably skilled resources to projects;
  • Co-ordinating design activities with a combination Operational SME’s, Architects and 3rd party vendors as appropriate;
  • Maintaining a pipeline view of project requirements and managing the resource requirements to meet business demand;
  • Partnering with the broader IT stakeholders to ensure enterprise supported security tools are used across domain specific platforms for network engineering, this includes but is not limited to Proxy/Internet Security, Certificate Management, Privilege Access Management, Remote Application Access and Orchestrated Response capabilities to threats;
  • Leading a group of Engineers that provide 24x7 technical and operational supports, as well as design across all of Australia Post’s network and infrastructure;
  • Managing the investigation and resolution of problems for services and help manage major network-related incidents and bring them to a satisfactory closure;
  • Managing operational workload that relate to reviews, estimation, incidents, changes and requests within the team’s area of responsibility and plan resource as appropriate;

 What are we looking for in you? 

  • A minimum of 8 years experience in Network and/or Security Engineering practices, with a demonstrated understanding of the key concepts associate with managing complex infrastructure;
  • Experience managing teams in a large complex IT services environment;
  • Proven experience at preventing business incidents through effective management of changes in a multi service provider environment;
  • Experience in scheduling change and release implementations;
  • Proven experience in managing large 3rd Party Vendor Relationships;
  • A strong background in hands-on experience of the design; implementation and support of infrastructure environments;
  • A background in IT tools and technologies, including but not limited to, Firewall Technologies, Network Switching, Application Firewalls, Internet Security Platforms, Monitoring and SIEM platforms;
  • Understanding of architecture involving leveraging modern practices with Central Certificate Management, Central Access Management, Out of Band Environments, Intrusion Detection and Protection, Security Orchestrated and Automated Response, Zero Trust principals and Micro-segmentation;

Naturally, you will have well developed negotiating skills, ability to influence and drive outcomes that may not be within direct control always.
