What does the role involve?

Reporting to the “General Manager Injury Management” as the “Senior Manager – Licensing & Compliance” you will be an integral part of the Injury Management senior leadership team. You will be responsible for the compliance of all regulatory and reporting conditions under the SRC Act (1988) for Australia Post Group (APG). As the largest self-insurance licence holder in the country, you will act as the primary contact between APG and Comcare. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing a team of 3 to ensure regulatory and reporting processes are delivered in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. This includes managing audits, information requests, system improvements, governance control, and driving continuous improvement.

You will also be responsible for;

  • Manage APG’s multiple Comcare self-insurance licences and regulatory relationships
  • Manage other related prudential requirements such as bank guarantees, reinsurance, and certification processes
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and APG standards and codes of practice
  • Develop and maintain systems, processes and policies to demonstrate compliance under the SRC Act
  • Manage other regulatory obligations: licence extensions, new licence approvals and other items as required
  • Manage a team and ensure appropriate resources are within budget are in place to achieve Injury Management’s objectives
  • Build and maintain regular reporting processes that allows users to make informed and timely decisions about compliance with legislation
  • Manage the financial impact of APG self-insurance licences
  • Manage Injury Management reporting requirements which will include but not limited to, high quality data analysis and technical advice on injury management data and overseeing the reporting which clearly and concisely articulates key underlying trends and performance insights.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health or business (data analytics) is preferred
  • Practical experience across Workers Compensation, Injury Management, or Rehabilitation, would be highly advantageous
  • Detailed understanding in workers’ compensation and injury management regulatory and functional areas and in particular the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 would be highly advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Comcare and self-insurance frameworks would be preferable
  • Prior leadership experience and exposure to governance, reporting requirements, handling compliance, making systems improvements and running audits will set you up for success in this role
