What does the role involve? 

Reporting to the “Head of Employee Relations - eCommerce Deliveries” as the “Senior Workplace Relations Partner” you will support our Deliveries, Community and Consumer divisions across a variety of employee and industrial relations matters. This role will focus on supporting the ongoing transformation of the business through the provision of timely, reliable and commercially focused advice to key stakeholders, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with the union. Furthermore, you will support the ongoing management of employee and industrial relations matters, disputes and cases for specific business units.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the employee and industrial relations strategy and framework across various business units
  • Supporting operational leaders in the implementation of projects that have people and/or industrial relations impacts through appropriate risk management principles
  • Supporting, and leading as required, the management of consultative forums and dispute resolution processes with unions.
  • Providing advice and advocacy as required on employee or union related proceedings in tribunals, and represent the enterprise at dispute settlement forums such as the Fair Work Commission.
  • Enhancing HR and Manager capability regarding employee, industrial and HR matters to increase efficiency and awareness of policy, process and legislation when dealing with employee issues.
  • Leading the development, implementation and management of employee, industrial and HR policies and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Proven legal qualifications and a current practicing certificate
  • Proven experienced within an Employment Law or Senior Workplace Relations role working across complex national industrial landscapes
  • Extensive technical and working knowledge of the Australian Industrial Relations system including relevant legislation and legal principles such as the Fair Work Act, EEO & Discrimination legislation and employment contracts
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and to partner with, and influence, senior stakeholders and union representatives as required
