Arrive to a different challenge each day as you assist with managing injured employees’ injuries. As part of the Injury Management team, you’ll work closely with key internal stakeholders to resolve all types of scenarios as early as possible – to ensure the best outcome is achieved at all times.

About the role

The Claims Manager is responsible for the assessment and determination of a varied portfolio of workers compensation claims within the Australia Post Group. They will provide advice and guidance to senior operational management, injured employees and other internal stakeholders as required. There is also a requirement to exchange information and manage relationships with external stakeholders including Comcare, staff associations, legal representatives and medical practitioners in relation to the assessment, determination and investigation of claims as well as the strategies and actions required to achieve the most optimal outcomes.

This role will need to ensure that rehabilitation support and strategies are undertaken in a manner that will ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, legislative and SRCC licensing requirements.

What will you be doing?

• Manage a portfolio of claims across a select area/s within the Australia Post business.
• Develop strategies for managing complex claims to expedite return to work and achieve timely recovery from workplace injuries
• Investigate new claims for compensation and determine liability
• Determine claims for compensation in respect of lost earnings and medical expenses
• Issue determinations and other written correspondence
• Management of treatment programs
• Liaise with health and rehabilitation professionals

What are we looking for?

• Prior experience in applying injury management legislation and policy to complex workplace injuries
• Experience with interpreting medical evidence
• Experience with synthesizing multiple data sources to make determinations on claims
• Experience in developing strategies for managing claims in consultation with both key internal and external stakeholders
• Experience (desirable) with the use of the SAP web based application to manage claims and process incapacity benefits.
