What does the role involve?

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll provide Strategic HR business partnering to the "General Manager of our Post Office Network, & General Manager of National Retail Development", including Wholesale, Merchandise and Store Transformation. This role is generalist in nature and therefore required to provide broad HR support to leadership teams, with the full spectrum of the HR domain. Partnering with HR specialists to design and deliver fit for purpose outcomes for the business, and be their trusted advisor to achieve a national impact. On a weekly basis, this role will see you

  • partner with GM’s and their leadership teams to identify people priorities or strategic initiatives
  • contribute significantly to the development & delivery of a strategic people program that is reflective of the business needs and the broader Enterprise agenda
  • lead delivery of multiple initiatives, working collaboratively with the HRBP team, and the broader HR CoE
  • provide ongoing partnership to GM’s and their leadership teams on people-related matters
  • work closely with multiple unions, at a National and State level, ensuring we maintain a positive working relationship
  • lead and drive workforce components of a business unit change
  • collaborate with other areas of the HR model (e.g. COE, HR Operations, and Planning & Enablement) to ensure the delivery of Enterprise agenda items in line with the people plan (e.g. annual cyclical activities), including influencing the allocation of resources to ensure business requirements are delivered


What are we looking for?

  • Solid (7+ years) experience in the HR function, ideally within business partnering roles
  • Demonstrated ability to establish highly trusted advisor relationships with senior leaders
  • Experience in delivering specific initiatives aligned to a people plan, within a complex matrixed organisation, and HR outcomes leveraging on a complex HR service model (people operations, CoE’s etc.)
  • Multi-discipline and broad HR experience that drives strong levels of commercial understanding and a clear appreciation of key business drivers
  • Exposure working in an industrial/unionised business environment
  • Collaborative in nature, with a strong ability to influence and drive change agendas with multiple stakeholders
  • Retail experience in a complex environment, and/or supporting large transformational programs is desirable
