The role is responsible for delivering Australia Post’s retail data strategy. The role has a balance of integrating new retail data into our analytics systems; performing deep-dive analysis to guide decision making; managing retail data source models; designing an exciting array of dashboards and reporting tools; and supporting data-needs of our supply chain and merchandise teams. Our organisation is transitioning to new cloud-based analytics systems meaning the successful candidate will be in a unique position to install lasting change which drives Australia Post’s retail business into the future.

You’ll work with other analytics specialists and cross-functional team members to help deliver strategic retail initiatives, trials and other performance improvement activities that directly impact commercial performance.

What It’s Like To Work Here

We are focused on growing and improving our retail business at Australia Post.  We recently launched a new retail transformation and set up a new business unit specifically-focused on driving retail growth across our network.

For you, it means you'll do great work, learn from the best and develop a career within a robust and well-invested but empowering and creative environment. We all work hard – we're working on major challenges, after all – but we also recognise that you have a life outside of the office, so we provide flexible conditions that enable you to grow whilst enjoying genuine work-life balance.

The role provides plenty of learning opportunities, good team-comradery working with other analytics or retail team members, and the ability to influence change on our 4.4k outlets.

What does the role involve?

The role is focused on delivering our retail data strategy.

You’ll be responsible for the rollout and management of newly available retail data into our cloud-based analytics systems, driving the creation of new analysis, reporting and dashboards which support merchandise and supply chain teams.

You’ll play a role in our retail transformation by monitoring trials, supporting strategic initiatives and preparing analysis to improve performance across our retail network (e.g. range optimisation, segment performance, allocations, and replenishment).

Day-to-day analytics vary with a mix of collecting and extracting data from relevant internal and external sources; framing and conducting analysis to guide commercial decision making; and monitoring retail and supply chain performance across a variety of financial, operational and other performance dimensions.  You’ll need to be able to build analytical models and perform modelling of sales, inventory and delivery data.

The successful candidate will be able to understand organisation context and proactively undertake important analysis to deliver the retail strategy. Your analysis and supporting data models will directly drive commercial outcomes by growing revenue, profitability or other performance measures across Australia Post’s 4.4k retail outlets.

Most importantly, you will have a desire to learn and be passionate about delivering genuine data & analytics change in a retail environment.
