About the role

At Australia Post, we have multiple delivery centres across our Eastern  suburbs of Melbourne and we are recruiting for experienced and confident Motorcycle riders or Electric Delivery Vehicle riders to join our postie community. This is an expression of interest only and you will only be contacted if your application is suitable and shortlisted. 

As a Postal Delivery Officer (PDO), you will start your early mornings sorting both mail and parcels before you go out and deliver on a motorbike or electric delivery vehicle in all types of weather. You will not only connect with the local community, you will also ensure that our letters and parcels are delivered on time.

To do that, you’ll need:

• To be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident 
• To hold a probationary or full motorcycle licence 
• To be a regular, safe, confident and experienced rider on a motorcycle - off road riding is favourable
• To successfully pass our mandatory and practical riding assessment
• A great memory and hand/eye co-ordination to sort the mail
• To be fit enough to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly
• To meet our safe working load limit of weighing 100kgs or less

Please note that the motorcycles/vehicles are provided by Australia Post.
