The domestic parcel portfolio represents over $1.7b in annual revenue (FY18) and services over 20,000 known customers as well as many more unknown customers through the consumer channels.

Aided by the growth in e-commerce, the portfolio has grown by 11.9% in FY18 and is on track for continued growth in FY19.


About the role

The Senior Product Manager, Domestic Parcels is responsible for a small team who work closely with Pricing, Sales, Operations, IT, Marketing and Segment Development teams to synthesize the overall service offering for our customers. This role is responsible for the management and optimisation of part of the domestic product portfolio and is accountable for developing and managing the relevant parcels services to optimise business outcomes (e.g. growth, yield, retention etc.).

Main responsibilities include:

  • Management of day to day activities associated with the product suite, including issue-management, product related queries, as well as the maintenance of business rules, policies and the product architecture
  • Management of the terms and conditions that dictate the nature of the services provided
  • Development of product strategy, roadmaps and business cases to support product investments
  • To manage the planning and deployment of product initiatives and tactical campaigns.
  • Creation and management of product initiatives or campaigns to support more efficient delivery of each core service or feature-set including relevant systems
  • Establishing demand, revenue and cost forecasts for the portfolio, supported by performance tracking relating to the product lifecycle
  • To ensure a key focus on contract customer experience, competitor and industry insights.
  • To lead, inspire and drive a highly performing team of Product Managers and Product Analysts


What are we looking for?

To be successful in the role you will need to have proven experience in developing product strategies, product development, promotions and product lifecycle management. This will accompany a strong experience of collaborating with a complex and multi-tiered stakeholder group in order to realise commercial outcomes. You will need to have demonstrable experience in leveraging existing customer, financial and market data to generate meaningful insights.
