What’s the job involve?

The Manager of Commercial Contract Governance will support the setup and management of contracts for customers across all segments (Business, Enterprise, and Government) that deliver value for our customers and for Australia Post.  The role works closely with peers in the commercial team, as well as sales teams and the sales solutions teams in particular, along with other areas of the Enterprise (e.g. legal) to understand requirements both of our customers and of the Enterprise parameters.  It is also responsible for leading a team of contract management analysts.

This role will establish the monitoring of contract effectiveness and proactively look for improvement opportunities. The Contract Manager will work primarily with existing contracts, and will govern current contract obligations to and from our customers to understand volume and negotiate as needed.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills ranging from the ability to resolve routine business issues through to engaging and influencing management and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
  • Oversee the preparation of documentation to facilitate the creation, maintenance, amendment and renewal of contracts.
  • Assist with implementation of new business at a lower value (less than $250,000) and related projects.
  • This role will establish the monitoring of contract effectiveness and proactively look for improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of our Horizon 1 products and services, analyse service operational efficiency and profitability, with an emphasis on reducing the total cost to serve the customer. 
  • Assist in sales, after sales service and administration projects, including preparation and delivery of internal and customer presentations as required.
  • Ensure contracts adhere to Australia Post guidelines and policy
  • Lead the contract management team, actively coach and develop a team with the customer at the heart of what they do
  • Role model Australia Post’s values and develop a team with a strong performance focus
