What's the job involve?

As a Lead Agile QA you will be joining our Digital Delivery Centre. DDC is a one-stop- shop that creates and manages compelling digital experiences for our customers. We are customer focused, iterative and adaptive.   You will be responsible for driving team and tribe-level test strategy in one of our digital teams.

  • Develops and maintains test ideas and test documentation as appropriate to project requirements.
  • Performs the necessary testing (exploratory, tool-assisted) to support good product and business decisions.
  • Guides the team to better practices in building-in quality and on continuous improvement.
  • Provides feedback on quality at all stages of product as appropriate and supported by the environment.
  • Collaborates closely with Development and Business representatives, responds quickly to change and drives the team to ‘good enough’ quality as quickly as possible.
  • Explore data to understand product risk and support testing.
  • Ensures supporting documentation for testing exists and is maintained.
  • Demonstrates sufficient consideration of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by an understanding of the business.
  • Ensures a tribe-level test strategy is in place and works to align the team, tribe or program to it.
  • Drive efficient testing aligned to business needs.
  • Ensure test strategy is agreed at a team level.
  • Drive alignment to agreed strategy beyond the team and report when this is not happening.
  • Coach others on good testing and quality practices when required.
  • Ability to gain deep understanding of how systems work.
  • Understanding of the human dynamics of software development.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Use of data to drive improvements to delivery approach.

What we're looking for:

  • Lead tester with exposure to a variety of different software development approaches.
  • Expert exploratory testing abilities including management of exploratory test efforts Experience driving tests through a variety of interfaces (eg. GUI, API, database, HTTP)
  • Experience using programming or scripting to solve testing problems
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving abilities.
  • Expert exploratory testing abilities including management of exploratory test efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in team leadership/mentoring/coaching of other testers.
  • Patience at building relationships with peers and immediate stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ownership of improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience tailoring testing to business and technical risk
  • Ability to articulate test design techniques and demonstrated experience applying them on the job
  • University or Tertiary Degree or equivalent experience
